Connected Exercise Equipment for a Healthy 2021

A new year is just around the corner, which means it’s time for a fresh batch of resolutions about getting healthier.

Current circumstances have us all spending a lot more time inside. There’s no better time to invest in a smart home gym that will work seamlessly with your fast, reliable internet from S&T.

So which connected home fitness solution is best for you?

Mirror

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fittest one of all? This year, it can be you, with the help of The Mirror. Don’t be fooled by outward appearances! When not in use, the wall-mounted reflective surface is still and smooth. But when you’re ready to work out, it transforms into a screen.

You can simultaneously watch the instructor while checking your form, making it highly integrated and amazingly intuitive. Starting at $1,495, The Mirror perfectly encompasses all your fitness needs in one clean, stylish design. And for an additional $39 a month, you get access to a huge variety of live, on-demand workout classes and videos. Try anything from boxing to kettlebell classes—you’re guaranteed to find something to love!

The Mirror comes with resistance bands and a heart rate monitor to track your progress in the app.

Peloton

The Peloton Bike is the introvert’s answer to SoulCycle. If you’re in it to spin it, this might be just the thing for you.

The stationary bike setup is practically identical to the kind of thing you’d see in an upscale fitness studio. With its sleek frame and easily adjustable seat and handlebar, you’re guaranteed a smooth, comfortable ride that adapts to your body. Plus, with the beautiful front-mounted touchscreen display, you have classes at your fingertips.

The standalone bike is $1,900, or you can kick it up a notch. Peloton upgrades include the Essentials Package for an additional $150, or the Bike+. You’ll also get some pretty incredible perks for Peloton’s $39 monthly fee, like new daily workouts and thousands of pre-recorded videos on everything from yoga to weightlifting.

But you don’t have to be a cycling enthusiast to enjoy Peloton. You can also check out the Tread and Tread+, Peloton’s high-tech, ultra-streamlined treadmills, starting at $4,295.

Peloton products are amazingly immersive. And with a tight-knit online community and a roster of energetic instructors to guide you through your routines, it’s no wonder that fitness fans are loving Peloton this year.

Echelon Connect Ex

Biking on a budget? Not a problem. Try the Echelon Connect Ex series. This stationary bike gives you a ride similar to Peloton, and at around $840, it’s nearly half the price.

You can still seamlessly track your metrics within the app, and the interface is very user-friendly. While you do have to provide your own screen, there’s a convenient tablet holder to prop up your device while you’re exercising. This means that, unlike Peloton, you can skip the classes and just throw on Netflix while you ride instead.

With so many innovative ways to work out in the New Year, you’re going to be in great shape come beach season!

But here’s something that never goes out of style: a fast, reliable, high-speed internet connection from S&T to reap the rewards of all your smart gadgets!
